Andrea Enderlein

The Area of genealogy – from genealogo (ancient Greek) to determine the parentage – has occupied me for a long time. Uncovering kinship relationships and family lines was and is of great interest to me. Displacement – due to war, persecution, or emigration – has forced countless people in the past to leave assets behind in their homelands under highly distressing circumstances. In many cases, their heirs still have little to no knowledge about these lost assets, which can include real estate, property rights, company property, capital assets, artwork, and valuable antiques.

My work consists of locating these assets and returning them to their rightful owners. I conduct research both independently as well as with third-party support to obtain the relevant information and identify ownership statuses. Individuals also approach me with requests to shed light on their family histories. Taking a specialized approach, I ascertain the circumstances that led to the loss of assets in the past.

My investigations involve, among other things, perusing land registers, old company documents, and state and church archives. I file requests for information from national repositories and authorities as well as institutions abroad. In addition, I conduct interviews with witnesses or individuals involved in the procurement or transfer of assets under investigation. My work is shaped and supported by my years of collaboration with an experienced, international team of art historians and lawyers.

To date, my historical and genealogical research has helped many people in Europe, Israel, the US, and South America to receive either the assets to which they are entitled as heirs or commensurate reparations.

Since I handle references from former clients with the utmost discretion, I can only provide information on closed cases (where pertinent, due to individual circumstances) following discussion with the respective client. If you are interested in this information, please fill out the contact form.

I am a longstanding member of the German Israeli Lawyer’s Association, and frequently take part in its conferences and meetings. This membership has allowed me to deepen the knowledge relevant to my work, as well as to continuously expand and enrich my network of contacts.
